Advice about used 7-seaters

Used 7-seater cars FAQs

Customer satisfaction surveys have rated Japanese and German vehicles very highly with the Skoda Kodiaq coming in as one of the most reliable 7-seaters around. Other Volkswagen Group vehicles also scored highly such as the SEAT Tarraco and Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.

If we compare used 7-seater cars of similar age, condition and mileage then you will find that the ones that were cheapest to buy new will remain the cheapest as a second-hand purchase. That makes the Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer one of the most affordable used 7-seaters from our list, although the Dacia Jogger is the cheapest new 7-seater in the UK which also makes it the cheapest nearly new 7-seater as well.

Make sure to do an HPI check to ensure that the car’s history is clean, look out for visual signs of accident damage and have a thorough look inside the car for undue wear and tear. Keep in mind that a few minor blemishes or marks on the paintwork and interior are par for the course on a family car.

A nearly new car should still drive like a brand-new model and there should be no odd noises emanating from the engine bay or suspension on a test drive.

That depends on your particular needs and budget. A new car has a certain allure to it and comes with a comprehensive manufacturer warranty. You also get to specify the vehicle to your liking but may sometimes have to wait a while for delivery.

A nearly new 7-seater should retain much of that new car magic in its first year or two but often comes at a significant cost saving. Most will still have the remainder of the manufacturer’s warranty and extended warranties can easily be added on if required.

You may have to search a bit to find a model that suits your needs, and it may be a bit harder to find your preferred colour/spec combination. However, many used cars come with optional extras that cost the original owner a pretty penny but don’t materially affect values as a used purchase.
